Improved reliability

The key benefit of implementing remote booting is increased network reliability. Remotely booted workstations will start in a controlled fashion every time. Implementing this level of desktop control helps to eliminate the most common point of failure in corporate networks.

Security and control

Remote booting enables network administrators to exercise full control over every PC, from the moment that it is powered-on, even before the operating system is loaded. It is also possible to disable local floppy disk booting at firmware level, as well as allowing read/write protection on the floppy drive itself. This protects the network from unauthorized disk-borne applications and the replication of viruses.

Reduce network management costs

As there is a reduced need for IT staff to visit individual user workstations and perform repetitive tasks, fewer staff hours are required to maintain the same number of PCs. Better security and control over software license issues result in further cost savings
